CHINESE BIBLE MISSION began
in 1952 by Rev. Sen Wong. He received 30 dollars from his pastor, Rev.
Daniel Hager to use the money with the intention of a spiritual ministry
among the Chinese. This was the beginning of Chinese Bible Evangel,
later known as Chinese Bible Mission.
The Lord led him and his wife, June to move from Portland, Oregon, to
the San Francisco Bay Area in 1956 to establish Chinese churches. The
first church was started in Oakland, which began with
a small group of children and young people. Other churches were started
in the intervening years in various cities in Northern California.
The auxiliary ministries of camps, retreats and literature evangelism
were added to serve these new churches -- to encourage and edify the
new believers through Bible teaching and fellowship, and to reach the
lost for Christ.
